The head of the Haft Tapeh workers’ union, Ali Nejati, was arrested and taken to the Dezful prison after he turned himself in to the enforcement unit of Dezful Court.
HRA- The prisoners’ rights unit of HRA reports that Ali Nejati was arrested and taken to Dezful prison to serve his prison term, after he turned himself to the enforcement unit of Dezful Court. In October 2009, Nejati who is the head of the Haft Tapeh workers’ union was sentenced to 6 months in prison followed by 6 months suspended term.
In October 2009, the 1st branch of the Revolutionary Court in Dezful handed down prison sentences to several union activists. Ali Nejati, Feraydoon Nikoofar, Ghorban Alipoor and jalil Ahmadi each received 6 months of fixed and 6 months of suspended prison term. A fifth activist called Mohammad Haydaripoor was sentenced to 4 month in prison to be followed by 8 months suspended term.
Previously, on November 4th, 2009, Nikoofar and Ahmadi were arrested and taken to the Dezful prison where are currently serving their prison terms
