Mahdieh Gloroo appeared today before Judge Ghomi at the 15th branch of the Revolutionary Court in a closed hearing.
HRA- Students’ unit of HRA reports that court hearing for Mahdieh Golroo was held on Tuesday behind closed doors with judge Ghomi presiding. Golroo is a student activist and a colleague of HRA.
Mahdieh Golroo appeared in court with her lawyer Mohammad Oliayi-Fard. During the hearing Golroo was indicted for conspiracy to disrupt public order, acting against national security by taking part in illegal gatherings, disseminating unfounded news through foreign media and disturbing public opinion. Golroo and her lawyer presented the defense arguments.
Court is expected to rule in 10 days.
Golroo is a member of the Right to Education Council. She was suspended from Allameh University for six semesters, after the first presidential election in 2005. She was among the group of suspended Allameh students who were arrested and taken to Evin after they staged a 4-day sit-in outside the University gates.
Majid Dorri, Peyman Arref and Ziaaldin Nabavi, are3 other members of the Right to Education Council, who are presently detained in Evin.
